The protect rule in one sentence

If your nametag is smaller, you are food. There is no block key, no dodge roll, and no published invulnerability. A survival checklist for the first minute

1. Read the leaderboard before you move. Slot one in the millions means the middle is closed.
2. Steer onto a dense blob ring at the edge, not toward the biggest disc.
3. If a larger tag turns toward you, cut away immediately. Pride is not a stat.
4. Park in a corner before opening codes, quests, or the pass store.
5. Hop servers when an apex joins. Six slots make leaving a valid tactic, not a fail.

How to protect a stack you already earned

After a swallow you become a beacon. Everyone in a six-player instance saw the eat. Do not idle on the kill spot. Slide back onto specks with a wall behind you. Magnet passes help you farm without walking into a predator, but they also pull you toward danger if you stop watching nametags.
